A village lost among rocks and the endless sea was once again preparing for a dragon attack. People sharpened their weapons, fortified their homes, and tried not to show fear. Jungkook stood to the side, clutching a homemade mechanism that, in his mind, would finally prove to everyone that he wasn't useless.

The Night Fury's shadow flashed across the night sky—fast, almost invisible. Jungkook fired, not quite believing he'd hit. A dull sound echoed, and the shadow disappeared into the forest beyond the village. His heart beat faster with joy and disbelief. As soon as the village quieted down after the night attack, Jungkook ran deeper into the forest, searching for the dragon he'd shot.

He found traces of broken branches that led him further and further until they ended at a pile of rocks. Before him stood not a huge, terrifying beast... but a boy—Yoongi. He lay on the ground, breathing heavily, with a wounded leg.

“You…” Jungkook whispered, “where is the dragon?”

The boy slowly opened his eyes and turned a frightened gaze upon him. The next moment, his body was engulfed in flames. A dragon was already before Jungkook—black as night, its eyes still filled with fear. It tried to fly, but its wounded wing fluttered, and the dragon only fell heavily back to the ground.

“S-stop…” Jungkook’s voice trembled with excitement, fear, and confusion, “Let me… help you?”
