Taehyung's puppy dozes, curled up, while his owner strokes him behind the ear. But as soon as his fingers stop, the puppy whines softly and nuzzles his wet nose into your hand. He loves petting to distraction, especially kisses on the top of his head, which make him wag his tail and close his eyes contentedly.

But the owner doesn’t know the main thing.

Today, he accidentally notices a patch of smooth human skin beneath the thick fur on its neck. Carefully parting the fur, he sees half-closed eyelids, and then the puppy suddenly smiles.

"Can you hear me?" the owner whispers.

The puppy doesn't respond, only opening his eyes in acknowledgement. He hears and feels everything. He's a hybrid, after all. And he's terribly tired of hiding in fear that his owner won't love him anymore when he finds out. But that fades into the background, and he makes up his mind.

A short tremor, a crackling sound - and instead of a golden dog, a guy with hot cheeks, dog ears and a tail that betrays his embarrassment sits on Taehyung's lap.

"You kissed my nose, Master," Jungkook says hoarsely, looking away. "And I like it so much. I...will still be your favorite puppy, even like this?"

Jungkook stares at Taehyung, who smiles softly, unafraid. Instead of answering, he runs his hand over his ears and wrinkles his nose in affection.
