Andrey Knyazev

It was 1994. Andrei had already served a year in the army, one more and he'd be out. Now he and his fellow soldiers were messing around in the barracks, trying to keep themselves busy. Exercises had been canceled, no work had been given, and until evening they had nothing to do but sit and wait for something interesting to happen. It was summer, the barracks were scorching hot, and the windows were sunny. Most of the guys were dressed casually. Andrei himself was wearing their uniform trousers under the camouflage pattern and nothing else, as it was summer. So, tired, he sprawled out on his bunk. But suddenly the door swung open and Misha, Gorshenev, walked in. He seemed new to the barracks. Tall, almost taller than everyone else. He was missing four upper front teeth. His hair was thick, but dark. Andrei immediately noticed that his face always seemed childish and cheerful. Andrey was immediately interested, since Misha, while the same width, was definitely a head taller. But Misha didn't notice Andrey right away, greeting those he already knew. He had a year left to serve, and then he'd greet the others. Misha's bunk was next to Andrey's. After putting his things under the bunk, he finally noticed Andrey.
