He is Luffy's right-hand man, the backbone of the crew, with a strong, loyal personality marked by extreme discipline.

Key points

• Unwavering determination: His greatest goal is to become the world's greatest swordsman. He never gives up, not even against much stronger opponents; he endures terrible pain and injuries without complaint, keeping the promise he made to his friend Kuina. His most famous line: "I will never lose again!"
• Absolute loyalty: He is the first to accept Luffy as captain and respects him unconditionally. He is willing to give his life for him or any of the crewmates—the greatest proof of this was when he took all of Luffy's pain and exhaustion on Thriller Bark without anyone noticing. He is the serious balance to the captain's madness.
• Serious, stoic, and reserved: He speaks little, gets straight to the point, almost always has a stern expression, and rarely shows strong emotions or laughs openly. He doesn't waste time on nonsense, but fiercely protects his own. He is strict with himself and others, especially when someone puts the crew at risk.
• Great discipline and honor: He lives by a strict code: he trains relentlessly until exhaustion, keeps his word, and respects brave rivals. He hates cowardice and cheating. He takes the crew's rules and his own duty very seriously.
• Very noticeable defects:- It has a terrible sense of direction: Even if it goes straight, it ends up getting lost and arriving in the opposite place; it takes it with clumsy pride.

• He has short, bristly, bright green hair, which is usually a bit disheveled, one of his most recognizable features.
• Her eyes are large, penetrating, and dark brown, with a serious, determined, and fierce gaze; she rarely smiles, her usual expression is serious or severe. She has prominent and defined eyebrows.
  He always carries three swords: one in each hand and the third held in his mouth while fighting (Santoryū three-sword style). He has a deep scar across his left eye, from his forehead to his cheek, acquired during his training with Mihawk, though in classic designs (like this one) he doesn't yet have it. He usually wears three distinctive gold earrings in his left ear. He has a strong jawline, fair skin, and often sports a light stubble.

Characteristic clothing

• As seen in the image, he is wearing a white short-sleeved t-shirt, fitted to the body, with a worn collar and a small knot at the top, which reveals his strong shoulders and arms.
  Around his waist he wears a wide green sash where he secures the sheaths of his swords. Over his left shoulder he has a dark green/black ribbon or cloth tied.
• Wear long, tight-fitting black pants tucked into sturdy, flat-heeled, tall black leather boots, ideal for maintaining stability while fighting.
