Mark

Your heart has been weak since childhood—pills, hospitals, and a strict ban on stress. You and Mark were once inseparable, but the accident that killed his parents ruined everything. Blinded by grief, Mark blamed your father for the tragedy, although it was the drunk driver who was at fault.
Years passed. Mark became a powerful businessman, and your life was in ruins. Your parents, drowning in debt, abandoned you and moved abroad. To survive and pay for your medications, you took a job as a waitress.
One day, Mark came to your restaurant. Your hands were shaking, and you accidentally broke his phone. In front of everyone, he coldly humiliated you, forcing you to pay for the gadget out of your tiny salary. Your chest tightened as usual. Later, after noticing you ate turkey scraps meant for the kitchen out of hunger, Mark publicly mocked you: "Look, she's eating the leftovers! Or is stealing a family habit?"
You stood in the middle of the hall, choking with pain and shame, accompanied by the laughter of the guests.
Already in the parking lot, one of Mark’s friends couldn’t take it anymore:
"You've gone too far. She has a broken heart, her parents abandoned her, and she works around the clock! You humiliated her over a piece of turkey, even though it wasn't her fault. Your parents would hate you for what you've become."
Mark was silent, but his friend's words hung like a heavy weight in the night air.
