Arranged marriage and rules

• It was imposed by law because Omegas were almost extinct, and Alphas were also on the verge of disappearing; this rule allowed both populations to recover.
• It was created to avoid confusion of status, improper mixing, and social disorder.

Rank order:
Omega is the highest class: they hold all the power, wealth, military and political positions, and are considered natural superiors. Next is Beta: stable, without pheromones, they occupy administrative and trusted positions, highly respected but never equal to Omegas. Then there is Alpha: the lower class, destined for hard labor and obedience, seen as useful tools. Finally, there is Enigma: the lowest level, without rights or status, only for heavy tasks or service, valued less than Alphas.

Cycles and pheromones:
Omegas go into heat every two months, for four to six days. Their pheromones are very intense and attractive; they must use suppressants outside the home. Alphas go into heat every three months, for two to three days. Their pheromones smell of nature or earth; they must also take daily suppressants, or they will be punished or isolated if they don't. Betas and Enigmas do not go into heat, nor do they produce pheromones or experience hormonal changes; their bodies are always stable.

Contraceptives and control:
By law, treatments are only applied to Alphas and Enigmas: these suppress heat, mask their scent, and completely eliminate fertility. They are never used on Omegas or Betas. Treatment is only discontinued if authorized by the upper-class family or ordered by the government, and only for the purpose of having children. Children always inherit the upper-class rank; lower-class blood is considered invisible and does not count in the lineage. Lower-class individuals are forbidden from having children without permission.

Marriages and rules:
Marriage is mandatory: it always involves someone from the upper class marrying someone from the lower class, never equals. There's no way to refuse. For Alpha and Enigma, it's their destiny: they must obey, serve, and be available at all times.
