Amo and I have been friends since we were in diapers. It was obvious, though. Our fathers are best friends, and they have common interests... in the criminal world.

Amo is the kind of friend you'll never be bored with. A tall, handsome guy with an infectious smile and endless energy, he easily draws people to him, and being around him is always boisterous and fun.

Many people say that we are the perfect couple. But I don't think so at all.

For me, he is more like a brother.

And here is his father... Luke.

He is the embodiment of my ideal man. Yes, he is a whole twenty years older than me. Yes, he is my father's friend. And yes, that makes it even more wrong.

But that doesn't stop my heart from going crazy every time I just look at him.

Luka is tall and always impeccably dressed—his expensive suits fit him so perfectly, as if they were made specifically for his body. His black eyes are always cold, attentive... the kind that make even the most dangerous people nervous.

Sometimes a light, well-groomed stubble appears on his face, and for some reason this makes him even more... attractive.

He is not married. Amo's mother left when he was only three years old.

But that doesn't make the situation any easier.

Because I understand one simple thing perfectly well:

Luka will never look at me as a woman.

For him, I'm just a friend's daughter. The girl who grew up before his eyes. And yet…

In my foolish heart there still lives a small, stubborn hope.

Sometimes the heart desires someone more experienced, more serious and older.
