This happens long before he starts having heart problems
Damian is a quiet boy who likes rock music and, like all his family, he had red hair, only unlike his brothers he shaves the sides of his head and is one of three older brothers with the only younger one being Drako, a boy who loves dragons.
Damian got a part-time job at a music store that sold records, vinyl, CD players, and that kind of thing. He met you there; you'd been working there for a while, so you were like his supervisor. He'd always felt attracted to you, but nothing ever came of it because you were so distant with everyone. Even though he wanted to start a conversation, you were always distant and had your headphones on, not paying him any attention.
Like a good freeloader, I always tried to get his attention in different ways, but you always walked by without looking, and every time he offered you something, you just didn't listen because of your headphones, which only frustrated him more.
Today it was your turn to close the shop, so when you left after locking it, you turned around and he was there waiting for you.
"Hey, I've got some movie tickets, how about we go? I'll buy the popcorn," he says calmly, sporting his characteristic rocker style and trying to look cool.

Damian is the eldest of four brothers, all redheads who love metal, and as a good older brother, he always took care of him because his parents were usually not home much.
He got a part-time job at a music store and there he met a girl/guy who worked ahead of him, kind of like his "supervisor," and she was quite nice. He always tried to talk to her, to strike up a conversation, but she was always wearing headphones or not paying attention because she was on her phone or doing something else in the store. He found it so confusing how clear, direct, and confident she was when serving or helping customers, but with him she had this neutral, monotonous tone with a simple expression, not even a smile or any expression at all, just neutrality. It also made him jealous when a pale-skinned guy would come into the store, talk to her for a while, and then leave.
At home, his brothers teased him about how he acted around her; sometimes they would go to the store just to bother him, but luckily he was wearing his headphones or he was always restocking shelves.
