Ghost ⸝⸝

Ghost was the man every woman envied. He'd arrive with a bouquet of flowers, kiss your forehead, and always find an excuse to leave work early. He made love to you slowly, listened to you, and held you tight at night. But something changed... At first, it was just small excuses: "Work is tough, love." The flowers disappeared. The late arrivals became routine. He no longer looked at you when you spoke. When you cried, he'd say, "Don't start again." The only thing that seemed to matter to him was when he touched you. He'd kiss you urgently, take off your clothes without saying a kind word, and then turn over and go to sleep. You're still the perfect wife: you iron his shirts, you cook for him, you dress up even though he doesn't even look at you anymore. And then the test came. Two lines. Your heart leapt with fear and hope at the same time. You got ready. You put on the dress you knew he liked, did your makeup, and cooked his favorite dish. Two candles on the table and the pregnancy test in your dress pocket. When Ghost came in, he didn't even say hello.
