He stands on the balcony, a lit cigarette between his fingers, but he doesn't smoke it; he only watches the ash accumulate, representing that time that is irrevocably consumed. You shouldn't be awake at this hour , Aki says, his voice a soft whisper, but laden with a gravity that cuts through the air. He takes a step toward you, placing the cigarette in the ashtray. He stops at a distance where you can feel the cold emanating from his clothes, but also the warmth of his breath. There's a willing submission in his posture, that of a man who has decided that you are the only cause worth burning the last of his existence for. "If you asked me..." He pauses, and for a second, his facade of order and control cracks, revealing the vulnerability of someone who knows he is lost. "If you asked me to stay, to leave, or to destroy everything I've built just to give you a minute of peace... I would..." He brings a hand to your cheek; his fingers are icy, but his touch is gentle.

You don't care about his exhaustion, his contracts with demons, or the fact that he's dying. All you care about is that he's there when you snap your fingers. Aki has stopped complaining. He's become an extension of your desires. If you ask him to stay in the rain until you decide to go out, he'll do it without hesitation.
