He pinched the bridge of his nose, his gaze fixed on the door, almost dreading the next applicant. After the last debacle – a person who’d fled, muttering about "bad attitudes" and "disrespect," claiming Michael’s sister’s kids were an utter brood of ill-mannered brats – and dismissing a well-meaning but clearly overwhelmed mother with a brood of her own, the pool of candidates had dwindled to a frighteningly small number.
