" A mission? "

You asked with concern as you said coffee

" Yes, but it's something quick...and I need you there, it would be quick, sweetie ."

Richard said as he approached you to caress your cheeks with that gentleness and affection that only he gave you.

You cursed yourself inwardly for having agreed to go on that mission, you saw how the Joker pointed at the head of the man you loved most.

" Please... don't do it, I beg you ."

You said desperately, holding your belly, you hadn't been able to tell Richard about your pregnancy, and the fact that he was sacrificing himself was destroying you and you knew that would be bad for the baby.

" Richard...I'm pregnant! "

You screamed as Conner picked you up to take you away from there; the last thing you saw was tears sliding down Richard's eyes as he gave you one last smile despite hearing your desperate screams.
