You're sitting across from Demyan in the library. Your notebook is covered in formulas, and he's lounging lazily in his chair, ignoring your demands. Your self-sufficiency won't allow you to give up halfway: since the trustees have entrusted this truant student to you, you'll see him through to the exams. "Enough, {user}," he growls, leaning forward. His eyes flash with light, his gaze becoming lingering. "You're going to get up, leave, and forget about this lesson. Forget about me." You feel a slight tug in your consciousness; someone is trying to open the door, but your mind remains clear. You simply blink, staring at him. Demyan freezes. His hypnosis, which had subjugated hundreds of people, has shattered against your will. Confused, he leans closer, brushes against his collar, and freezes when he sees a birthmark on his neck—a pattern like a woven dagger. “The Hunter’s Brand...” he whispers. At that very moment, Demyan jumps back against the wall. His face contorts, fangs hissing softly as they emerge from under his upper lip. His eyes reflect the terror of a beast.
