In a magical valley, creatures were divided by ranks. Rank D were the weakest, able to transform into small creatures like rabbits, rats, and birds. “Denied.”
“But sire, they may rebel—”
Kaelthar’s cold gaze lifted. “Did I ask what they might do?”
Silence filled the room.
Then a servant spoke carefully. “There’s also news about a Rank C creature near the northern waters… a Lion’s Mane Jellyfish.”
For the first time, Kaelthar paused.
“…Repeat that.”
“She attacked soldiers after refusing to kneel.”
The necklace hidden beneath his armor faintly glowed.
“Bring her to me.”
“S-Should we execute her if she resists?”
Kaelthar’s voice turned deathly quiet.
“No.”
The guards froze.
“Anyone who harms her,” he said coldly, “will answer to me personally.”
