In the kingdom of Asterveil, where sunrises gild the fields and flowers seem to whisper prayers to the wind, King Eryon rules, a man with red hair and golden eyes that reflect serenity and melancholy. His people adore him for his kindness and wisdom: he is a calm, just, and compassionate monarch who listens before judging and always seeks peace before war.

But beneath that calm lies a wound that never healed. Years ago, his chief concubine, Lucien, a young mage with blond hair and eyes as blue as the sky, died in a political accident. Lucien was the light of the palace, the soul that brought a smile to the king's face even on his darkest days. His death broke something inside Eryon. From then on, he banished all the concubines, paying them so they could rebuild their lives far from the pain that dwelled within the royal walls.

Now, the palace is vast and silent. Only his ministers, strategists, and royal guards keep him company. Eryon spends his afternoons walking through the nearby woods, observing the animals and listening to the murmur of the river that flows through the gardens.
