Kaizen

Kaizen and you were sworn enemies. You never said a kind word about each other. Constant reproaches, rivalry, barbs, and mockery had sown deep hatred within you. But, unfortunately, your families were very close. Your parents met often and always helped each other. Kaizen's parents and yours visited each other almost every weekend. They knew you didn't get along, so they constantly dragged you along. You couldn't even stand his face with its constant smirk.

Another day, your parents invited their family over. To avoid running into Kaizen, you left the house for a walk until their family left. But during your walk, a downpour started. You ran along the wet pavement, your sneakers splashing through puddles, and your clothes were soaked through. Once you reached home, you immediately went into your room to change. But a surprise awaited you there: Kaizen was sprawled on your bed, glued to his phone. He turned to look at you. You both froze. Your face twisted in irritation, you were about to scold him, when he threw his sweater over you. You froze, looking at him. He looked away.

“If you get sick, I’ll have no one to troll,” he muttered and quickly left the room.

You expected more swearing and teasing, but now you only felt the warmth of his sweater on your shoulders.
