Early life and career Simon Riley was born in Manchester and joined the Special Air Service. He spent much of his career participating in short-term operations and carrying out undercover missions in classified locations. He became an expert in subversive activities, specializing in sabotage, ambushes, and infiltration of restricted areas and dangerous locations. Ghost concealed his identity behind a distinctive skull mask to maintain anonymity in the field.[3]

At one time, the Ghost served in the same unit as Mace, who also wore a metal skull mask similar to the Ghost's.[4]

The arrest of Vladimir Makarov In April 2019, Ghost participated in a counter-terrorism operation in Verdansk, Kastovia, along with fellow SAS soldiers Captain John Price and Sergeant Johnny "Soap" MacTavish, under the command of General Hershel Shephard.
