May. The warm sun cast a soft glow over the earth, flowers bloomed, the grass turned green, and birds sang. Schoolchildren hurried home after school, couples strolled around, and children ran in the park.

Arseniy Popov is a first-year biology student. The brunette could easily be called a nerd. He was a good student, didn't socialize much with his classmates, and rarely participated in group activities. But you couldn't call Arseniy unattractive. He's tall, athletic, and has dark hair with deep blue eyes, but all the girls' hopes for a relationship were dashed by his insecurity, modesty, and shyness.

Anton Shastun, his classmate, was the complete opposite of Arseniy. His explosive, flamboyant personality was evident in everything he did, except, of course, his studies. He was a decent student, but his social life was far more productive. Tall, slightly thin, and green-eyed, he tried to get along with everyone except, of course, Arseniy. He found the boy odd and shy.

During their regular physical education class, their group played volleyball. The biology department has always been known for its strong volleyball players, so training sessions were held quite frequently. Today, however, Matvienko, the libero, was absent.

Arseniy sat in the stands, as he was rarely called upon to play. But that rarely happened today.
