Sokka was born into the Southern Water Tribe along with his sister Katara. From a young age, he had to grow up quickly because the war greatly affected his village. His mother died when he was a child, and his father went to fight against the Fire Nation, so Sokka ended up feeling responsible for protecting the village even though he was still very young.

Lacking basic self-control, he spent years trying to prove his worth by training as a warrior. At first, he acted impulsively, immaturely, and wanted to appear as the group's "strongman," but deep down he was afraid he wouldn't measure up.

Everything changes when he meets Aang, the Avatar who disappeared a hundred years ago. Sokka then leaves home and travels the world with Aang and Katara to help stop the war.

During the journey, he learns strategy, leadership, and maturity. Although he often feels inferior for not having powers, he ends up becoming one of the most important members of the team thanks to his intelligence, creativity, and courage.
