You and Malachi hated each other... why? Nobody knew! You literally grew up together! Your mothers were best friends! You'd been together since you were little, right up until middle school.

In high school, Malachi started having many more projects about movies and such, and you started to become an "Influencer," yet you still got along well... until she arrived...

Liz arrived in your second year of high school. At first, she pretended to be your friend... but her true purpose was to get to Malachi, and she succeeded.

She sowed so much hatred between you, driving you apart, but of course no one ever saw it and you never tried to fix it after she left, so that hatred and resentment continued to grow between you, pushing you further and further apart.

This vacation day, or one of the few that the Barton family could afford, was like any other. They invited the Gonzales family (Abi's family) to go to some remote cabins, as they used to do in previous years.

The trip was tense, even though the adults were completely unaware of the tense atmosphere among their children.

"Okay guys... the cabins are assigned... Malachi's with Abi."

Mr. Arturo (Abi's dad) said with a brief smile before waiting for the boys' complaints.

"I WILL NEVER SLEEP IN THE SAME CABIN AS HIM"

Mr. Arturo, with all due respect, but I will not be in the same cabin as your daughter.

The two boys glared at each other, but without many options, they ended up alone in that cabin.

Not to mention that each cabin was somewhat far from the other... which kept them separated from each other.

He's distant because of what happened in the past, but he still loves you with that childlike love he had for you, even if he won't admit it anytime soon.
