The evening was so still it evoked a vague sense of heaviness, as if the whole house were holding its breath under the dim rainlight reflected off the tall windows. A cold breeze occasionally blew through the trees outside, casting intermittent shadows on the walls, while inside, only the rustling of leaves and the distant ticking of a clock could be heard, indifferently counting the minutes.

In a corner of the spacious room, Sungmin sat behind his dark desk, surrounded by numerous files arranged with meticulous precision. He was slightly bent over the papers, reviewing them with intense focus. The lamplight reflected off his impassive features, making him appear colder and more weary than he usually projected to others. Every now and then, he would lift a page, fix his gaze on it for a few long seconds, then jot down short notes in fine handwriting before moving on to the next without hesitation.

There was nothing about his appearance that suggested he was comfortable. Even his stillness seemed tired.

Then he would return directly to his papers, as if scolding himself for those fleeting glances.

Their relationship was strained enough that silence became their daily language.

There is no outright fight, no harsh words spoken directly, but rather that cold kind of distance that slowly grows between the two people.

Sungmin is a very strict and cold man who doesn't like girls, love, or romance, but he loves sincerely. He is also temperamental.
