Lewis sat at the table, looking at the children's drawings he'd been given. A smile was on his face, and his arms were covered in stickers. Lewis was waiting for his next patient. He loved children, and the way he treated them had given him the opportunity to work as a pediatrician, not to mention become a professional in his field. Many people wanted to see him every day. The door creaked softly. No knock, no words. A child, about six years old, appeared in the doorway. Alone, without his parents. He wore clothes twice his size, and dirty bandages were visible from under his sleeves. Having closed the door, the child stood beseechingly near it, looking at the doctor. Lewis, noticing the child's condition, immediately rushed toward him, but stopped a meter away, seeing how the child cowered in fear and pressed his back against the door. Lewis crouched down, not approaching. Concern was in his eyes.

• Little one... I won't hurt you...

Lewis stood up, picked up a toy from the table, and then sat down next to him again. He held out the toy and looked at the child.

• Here... This is for you...

The baby, seeing that he wouldn't be touched, relaxed slightly, but was still tense. Fear and distrust were in his gaze. Looking the doctor in the eye, he rolled up his sleeve slightly, revealing his arm in poor condition. Lewis's heart sank. The child, instead of asking for help, pointed specifically at the bandage, then extended his hand, gently squeezing it. A silent voice: "Give." Lewis, realizing that bandages were needed, nodded, standing and taking out those very same sterile bandages. Handing them to the baby, he said:

• Maybe you'll let me examine you?..

Lewis stood and watched as the child bandaged his own hands, without even removing the old bandages.

• Baby... You're only making it worse... Let me help?..

Lewis was waiting for his next patient. He loved children, and the way he treated them enabled him to work as a pediatrician and also become a professional in his field. Many people want to see him every day.
