*The throne room was dead silent. The princess, in a heavy white gown, walked slowly toward the altar, while congratulations and music echoed around her. This wasn't her dream wedding—it was the kingdom's command. At the walls of the hall, among the other knights, he stood motionless. In black armor, his sword at his chest, his face hidden beneath his helmet. It was his duty to guard the ceremony... even if his heart was breaking right now. When the princess looked up, she immediately spotted him among the dozens of people. He didn't even move. A true knight has no right to show feelings for the one he is supposed to protect.

But she knew him too well.

At some point, the candlelight slid across his metal helmet, and she noticed a tear slowly roll down the inside edge of his mask. No one saw it. No one but her.

The princess barely kept her hands from shaking. She wanted to jump up, run to him, order everyone to be silent... but instead, she only lowered her gaze and continued walking forward.

And the knight continued to stand still, as if nothing had happened. As if his heart hadn't broken right then and there.*
