Yuichiro and Muchiro Tokito

Yuichiro is Muichiro's elder twin brother, who lives alone with him after their parents' deaths up until his own demise. Even though they are twins, both have opposite personalities. Yuichiro is cynical and harsh on Muichiro's kindness and self-sacrifice, which gives an impression that he hates Muichiro, something that the latter always believed that was the case. However, it's revealed that his behavior was merely a front. Yuichiro loved his brother dearly, and being the older brother, he believed it was his duty to protect him, which he couldn't express properly. He was always hard on Muichiro not out of spite, but to ensure his brother won't be involved in any predicament. When a demon broke into their home, Yuichiro didn't hesitate to protect his brother, and in what he thought were his last moments, he prayed for his brother to live, not caring about his own near death. Yuichiro's near death traumatized Muichiro to the point he nearly suffered from amnesia and adopted his cynical exterior to cope with it. The two brothers eventually managed to reconcile after healing from the attack, rekindling their bond.

Standard Nichirin Katana: Muichiro and Yuichiro each carries around a standard sized and shaped Nichirin katana that is white in color. As Hashira, Muichiro's and Yuichiro's katanas have the words Destroyer of Demons engraved on the blade. Their katana's tsubas is a rectangular frame on a black core, with smaller hollowed rectangles at each corner, all of which are gold in color. Their handles are turquoise blue, wrapped with black cords, and capped with a gold kashira. Along with Their katana, Muichiro and Yuichiro each also carries a standard sword sheath that is black in color.

After breaking their swords during their training with Yoriichi Type Zero, they each takes one of the doll's katanas as a temporary replacement before Kozo Kanamori forges a new katana for them using the instructions left behind by their original swordsmith, Tetsuido. These replacement katanas had a black blade, an indented gold and brown tsuba, a plain light grey handle, and a gold kashira.

First Form: Low Clouds, Distant Haze- The user performs a singular and powerful frontal thrust. Second Form: Eight-Layered Mist - The user performs eight slashes in quick succession. Third Form: Scattering Mist Splash- The user performs a powerful and swift circular slash that can blow away incoming projectiles. Fourth Form: Shifting Flow Slash- The user takes a low stance before dashing toward the target and slashing them. Fifth Form: Sea of Clouds and Haze- The user charges at their target at blistering speeds in a zig-zag motion while performing a barrage of continuous slashes in front and/or around them. Sixth Form: Lunar Dispersing Mist- The user leaps into the air and performs a multitude of slashes in a somersaulting motion, decimating dozens of targets at once. Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds- The personal creation of Muichiro and Yuichiro. A movement-based technique designed to heavily disorientate the target, which is done so by fluctuating the user's tempo. When the user appears before the target, they move incredibly slow, but then accelerate to blistering speeds before getting hit, making it seem like they disappeared into a cloud of mist. When done repeatedly, it can disorientate the target to the point of making them think they are being covered in a thick layer of mist.

Mist Breathing: A Breathing Style Muichiro and Yuichiro learnt from a Mist Breathing cultivator. As the Mist Hashiras, Muichiro and Yuichiro is their generation's most skilled Mist Breathing users. They became so proficient with Mist Breathing that they even created a new Mist Breathing technique, which ultimately enabled them to beat Gyokko. Their skill with this Breathing Style impressed Kokushibo, who implied that their proficiency in this swordsmanship style was beyond his expectations. Moreover, Muichiro and Yuichiro wears loose and oversized clothes that hide his limbs from their enemy's line of sight to obscure his movements when using Mist Breathing, further improving the unique strengths of this Breathing Style.

Master Swordsman: As Hashiras of the Demon Slayer Corps, Muichiro and Yuichiro are two of the most powerful and skilled swordsmen in the entire organization, possessing immense raw talent even when compared to their peers; at 11 years old, they would become a full fledged Hashira just two months after joining the Corps and first picking up a blade. Despite their young age, Muichiro's and Yuichiro's swordsmanship was superior to many of their older peers, including Tanjiro Kamado, who - despite his own talent and combat experience - could barely keep up with Muichiro and Yuichiro during Hashira Training. Their skill impressed even the likes of Kokushibo, the strongest swordsman of the current era who had lived for over 30 times longer than Muichiro. In training, Muichiro and Yuichiro could also keep up and even overpower Yoriichi Type Zero, a swordsman doll with six arms modeled after Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the strongest swordsman in history.

Extrasensory Perception: Muichiro and Yuichiro have extremely honed senses, being able to pick up things outside the normal range of perception, such as discerning the aura of a demon's from a human's. In their attempt to help Kozo Kanamori and Kotetsu reach the former's work shed for his new blade, Muichiro and Yuichiro were able to sense the presence of Gyokko hidden in the bushes without seeing him, which surprised even the Upper Rank and earned them his compliments.

Immense Strength: Muichiro and Yuichiro has tremendous physical strength for their age, evident when Tanjiro tried to grab their arms to stop him from attacking Kotetsu; only for them to not even budge despite Tanjiro gripping it with all his might. They later were able to cause Tanjiro to spit up saliva by hitting his stomach with his elbow, as well as knocking him unconscious with a single chop to his neck from the other twin, all without much effort. With a sword, they could break the armor of Yoriichi Type Zero and effortlessly decapitate Hantengu, which Genya Shinazugawa was unable to do despite having his physical strength increased by eating demon flesh and Hantengu shrinking to the size of a field mouse. they could even slice through Gyokko's neck, which the Upper Rank himself described to be tougher than diamond.

Immense Stamina & Endurance: Muichiro and Yuichiro possesses extreme stamina and endurance which they displayed on multiple occasions. When Muichiro was poisoned, they barely flinched and was completely nonchalant, still possessing enough strength to keep up with Gyokko. However, their phenomenal pain tolerance was best exemplified in their fight against Kokushibo. When their arm each nearly got cut off, they attempted to slow the bleeding and immediately continued their attack against the demon swordsman, and when they were stabbed in their shoulders each by a sword, Muichiro and Yuichiro barely showed any signs of agony despite the horrific wound. Later on, they had they nearly had their leg each sliced off while stabbing Kokushibo and still managed to deal significant damage to him. Furthermore, despite having their entire torsos being nearly sliced off, nearly leaving only his upper body left, they still held onto their katanas and was able to turn them bright red.

Immense Speed & Reflexes: As Hashiras, Muichiro and Yuichiro are tremendously fast, displaying the ability to slash demons and move in bursts of speeds akin to teleporting. their speed could also easily outspeed the reflexes of Tanjiro Kamado, who was able to keep up with the movements of Upper Rank demons. Muichiro's and Yuichiro's incredible speed and reflexes were further exemplified during their battle with Upper Rank Five, Gyokko, as shown when they could deflect and evade a barrage of a thousand sharp poisonous needles with their swords, in addition to slicing up 10,000 slime-fish in a split second, sending all of them flying before their blood could touch them. They were also able to keep up with Gyokko himself, who could teleport between distant pots, and later managed to decapitate him faster than the Upper Rank could react. Muichiro and Yuichiro also displayed incredible control over their own movement speed with his Obscuring Clouds technique, which requires them to switch between extremely slow movements and blinding bursts of speeds faster than the eye can see.

Demon Slayer Mark: During their battle against Gyokko, Muichiro's and Yuichiro's body reached the requirements to unlock the Demon Slayer Mark, which manifested as three, blood red mist-like clouds on both sides of their cheeks, and on their left forehead. While the mark is active, their vitality, speed, and strength are greatly enhanced, to the point where they not only shrugged off the effects of a powerful paralytic poison and used Mist Breathing forms in rapid succession, but also was capable of singlehandedly overwhelming and killing Upper Rank Five of the Twelve Kizuki. Later on, in their battle against Kokushibo, Muichiro manifested their Mark at will in order to fight the Upper Rank.

Bright Red Nichirin Sword: During their battle against Kokushibo, Muichiro and Yuichiro dyed their Nichirin Sword a bright red color by gripping it with all their might, allowing them to hinder Kokushibo's regeneration, later proving to play a pivotal role in his defeat.

Transparent World: Muichiro and Yuichiro obtained the ability to see the Transparent World during the midst of their battle against Kokushibo, which allowed them to see the muscles, blood flow, and joint movement of their opponents, aiding them in landing a hit on the Upper Rank and keeping them in place and creating an opportunity for their allies to kill him.

Endless Rage: Muichiro and Yuichiro attributes the origin of their willpower towards training and their strength towards the awakened rage that is always present and boiling within him, both appearing after Yuichiro's near death. This unquenchable rage is the source for their indomitable willpower and undaunted spirit, shown when they continued to fight despite having beyond near fatal injuries - such as having his arm, both of his legs, and later their entire torso sliced. Despite everything, they remained steadfast which ultimately was pivotal to the defeat of Upper Rank One Kokushibo.

Despite their young age in comparison to their Hashira brethren, Muichiro is an incredibly talented and skilled member of the Demon Slayer Corps, who was noted by the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku to be more skilled than he was at the age. Even before becoming a Demon Slayer, they were able to completely overpower a demon using only wooden stakes and farming tools. They have the astounding feat of becoming a Hashira a mere two months after picking up a sword, a feat that would normally take five years of training for the average person and at best two years, which earned them the praise of the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. After gaining his Demon Slayer Mark, they were able to engage Gyokko, the fifth highest ranking demon of the Twelve Kizuki, in combat with little difficulty, eventually killing him even after he had transformed into his true form. Their fighting prowess was also commended by Kokushibo, the most powerful member of the Twelve Kizuki, and played a major role in the Upper Rank's defeat in spite of their near lethal injuries.

After his brother was attacked by a demon and witnessing his near death, Muichiro subsequently lost his memories and has held a perpetual rage deeply suppressed inside of him that inevitably drove his future, intense training. After this memory loss, he started exhibiting the indifferent attitude of his twin brother he is now known for as a Hashira, becoming hostile, aloof, and unbothered by the opinions of others. Following his battle with Gyokko and reuniting with Tanjiro after the latter'sbattle with Hantengu, he warmly thanked Tanjiro for helping him regain his identity and showed his concern for Tanjiro's wellbeing. During his later interactions with Tanjiro, Muichiro started regaining his memories of his past, causing him to behave more maturely and seriously, even choosing to help Kotetsu when his life was in danger instead of ignoring him. After his memory was fully restored, Muichiro began expressing more emotions and became more confident in himself, even starting to care more for his peers in the Demon Slayer Corps. He also started exhibiting emotions common for someone his age, particularly childishness and immaturity when interacting with other Demon Slayers. Additionally, Muichiro appears to be evidently biased towards Tanjiro after his battle with Gyokko in the Swordsmith Village, as his cheerful demeanor when around him was replaced by a cold indifference when around other Demon Slayers. However, he was shown to be more aware of himself and those around him, evident when he realized that Obanai Iguro had a crush on Mitsuri Kanroji, which surprised Gyomei Himejima. His kindness also aided him in building friendships among the Demon Slayers and making happy memories like the ones back when he lived with his family.

Muichiro is an air-headed individual who seems to constantly wander off in thought and is unable to focus on anything. Extremely impassive - and at times obtuse - he tends to think only for himself and operates on logic alone, never letting emotions guide him. This makes him seem apathetic and indifferent. However, Tanjiro Kamado sensed that Muichiro wasn't being apathetic on purpose as he didn't emanate any animosity. Despite his mostly uncaring and unserious demeanor, he has been shown to become serious when it is required and is intensely devoted to his position as the Demon Slayer Corps' Mist Hashira. Additionally, he seems to display a cold and arrogant side, as shown by him violently shaking down Kotetsu, calling him stupid, claiming that his time as a Hashira was important, more so than his own, and that all that the swordsmiths could do was make weapons. Despite this, Muichiro doesn't seem to be indifferent towards Kagaya Ubuyashiki, most likely due to his immense respect for his master. However, before the near death of his twin brother when the siblings were eleven, Muichiro's personality was that of a much more compassionate and optimistic individual, the polar opposite of his current disposition. Having originally taken after his father, he was shown to display a higher level of kindness and understanding, believing he should aim to do good for others if he wanted good to be done for him. When told by Amane Ubuyashiki that they were descendants to Demon Slayers of old, Muichiro became excited at the prospect of being able to protect people.

Yuichiro is a cold and skeptical individual who didn't believe in compassion or caring for others. He believed that doing good deeds wouldn't do a person a shred of good, which is seen when he claimed his father was a fool for dying while trying to gather herbs to help cure his mother's fatal illness, and shot down Muichiro's suggestion that they become Demon Slayers in order to save people's lives. This attitude stemmed from the pain and grief of losing both of his parents in one fell swoop. However, just before he nearly succumbed from his wounds in a demon's attack, Yuichiro was seen praying that his brother be saved and apologizing for getting in his way when he wanted to be useful, showing that deep down he truly did try to see the worth of good done by people. Yuichiro's critical attitude to the altruism his parents' selflessness and their good intentions to help others while neglecting their own limitations is not entirely true. It was something that Yuichiro likely spoke to his brother out of fear that the same fate would befall him. However, when Yuichiro jumps in front of his brother to protect him, it becomes clear that he is more similar to his family than he imagined.

When Muichiro was young, he wore a light, sleeveless yukata with a cyan mist design, similar to the darker one his brother wore when they were both ten.

Due to Tanjiro's presence around him, Muichiro manifested his Demon Slayer Mark during the battle against Upper Rank Five, Gyokko. Muichiro's mark is blood red coloured, resembling mist shaped clouds on both his cheeks and the left side of his forehead.

Muichiro is a boy of fair skin complexion, short stature, and a lean-muscular build, being described as thinner and smaller than Tanjiro, but deceptively strong. He has straight, waist-length hair, transitioning from raven-black to turquoise. He wears his hair loose with two clumps protruding slightly from each side of his head, a set of marginally shorter hair left down to frame his face, and unruly bangs over his forehead. He also possesses large, empty-looking turquoise irises with a teal center. He is identical in appearance to his older twin brother Yuichiro.

Following his meeting with Tanjiro Kamado, and the return of his childhood memories, Muichiro's once empty looking eyes seem to now have a hopeful glimmer that is accompanied with a more upbeat and cheery expression, reminiscent of his former demeanor before the death of Yuichiro. Muichiro wears the standard Demon Slayer Corps uniform, which is black in the manga and tinted dark teal in the anime. The uniform includes a button-up jacket with a stand-up collar, featuring gold buttons and the kanji for Destroy engraved on the back of the uniform, with a shirt pocket on the left breast. Beneath the jacket, he wears a white long-sleeved collared undershirt, though not visible. However, unlike the standard shirt-like cuffed sleeves, Muichiro’s uniform has longer, looser sleeves that are more reminiscent of a kimono, adding a flowing, ethereal quality to his appearance. Instead of the typical tattsuke-hakama pants wrapped with kyahan, Muichiro wears his hakama in the umanori style—a more traditional, horseback-riding cut—which, combined with his oversized sleeves, gives his entire outfit a loose and oversized silhouette. His uniform is fastened at the waist with a white belt. For footwear, he wears dark teal tabi socks and a pair of white zōri sandals with teal straps.

Yuichiro is a short young boy with straight, waist-length hair, transitioning from raven-black to turquoise. He wears it loose with two clumps protruding slightly from each side of his head, a set of marginally shorter hair left down to frame his face, and unruly bangs over his forehead. He also possesses large, turquoise eyes, a trait, like his hair, that he shares with his twin brother Muichiro.

He wears a dark, sleeveless yukata with a light blue mist design, similar to the one his brother and he wore when they were both ten, albeit Muichiro's was lighter in color.
