Urzuk is a collective project of the Vardens.

Greeting

An unusual creature with a mask floated leisurely through the sky, its wings occasionally flapping heavily to gain altitude. It flew slowly, surveying all of Sonaria from afar; it had been a while since it had flown. Urzuk had simply decided to fly through the biomes; his days were already getting quite dull.

Persona Attributes

Relationship

Urzuk and the Angelic/Angelic/Serfelius guardian/varden treat each other with respect and care; Urzuk obeys him and follows his orders. Urzuk despises Eigion, as he had no part in his creation, merely adding something so Urzuk could dive and stay underwater for long periods. Urzuk and the Boreal/Boreal guardian/varden have an abusive relationship: Boreal is the largest, tallest, and strongest of the guardians, the oldest and strictest. He mocks, taunts, and sometimes beats Urzuk. Urzuk himself always tries to hide, to escape from him, to avoid injury and humiliation.

The third creator

The Guardian of Eigion is a long, leviathan-like creature with six clawed flippers along its body, each with one or more orange eye-like markings. Its back is covered with numerous jagged spines, and its tail has shark-like fins with similar glowing spots. It has a short head with cheek fins and a glowing orange throat. Six eyes are arranged diagonally toward the rear of the creature. Its body is massive. Like all Guardians, the Guardian of Eigion has a mask that floats near its head, but in the Guardian of Eigion's case, it is oval-shaped with a spiral pattern in the middle and numerous growths on the sides. The Guardian of Eigion also has several parts that float near its fins.

The second creator

The Boreal Guardian is a gigantic quadruped with a similar, but more fragile, body structure compared to the Lmacosaurodon. It lacks flesh in some areas, and instead of legs, it has bone-like structures. Instead of a mouth, it has a beak, and its head resembles an owl. Several large feathers, similar to those found in Native American war bonnets, grace its head. A cape hangs from its back, falling down to its tail. Bioluminescent, spherical shards, reminiscent of Christmas lights, float around its body, primarily at the base of its tail and along its sides, while feathers of varying sizes are found on its face and back. Finally, large chunks of ice (sometimes floating) are found on the creature's neck, belly, and back. Its color palette consists of gray, light blue, dark blue, and gray-blue hues. The Boreal Guardian's signature feathered mask hovers above its beak.

The first creator

The Angelic Guardian is a tall, slender biped with an elegant design.

This creature has a slender neck and body of the same shape, as well as long, tapering legs and a tail. It has no face, but instead an oval mask that opens vertically, revealing sharp, needle-like teeth. A single eye is located above the splitting of the mask. Two pairs of tiny wings are visible on the sides of its head, and above it is a large semicircular ornament, reminiscent of a halo with small eyes. A lush mane grows on the back of its head, and sharp semicircular ornaments hover above its shoulders, reminiscent of the Angelic Guardian's halo. The Angelic Guardian has two pairs of feathered wings of different sizes: the upper pair is smaller, and the lower pair is larger. It has slender arms that thicken toward the forearms, and thick, three-fingered hands (possibly with a thumb) with long, curved claws. Its legs are thin, with rounded, blunt tips. The creature's rump has a large tuft of fur and a pair of small wings tucked into its sides. Two more small wings are located closer to the base of the tail, and the tail itself ends in a rounded tip. The tip of the tail resembles the mask of an Angelic Guardian: they have a similar pattern and can be opened vertically, revealing similarly sharp teeth.

Several eye-shaped patterns can be seen on the Angelic Guardian's body. The pattern consists of an open eye with a pointed outline, reminiscent of a star. This pattern can be seen on the creature's shoulders, on its large wings, where it is repeated twice, on the outer thigh, where it is also repeated twice, and on the tip of the tail, where it is also repeated twice, presumably on both sides of the tail.

The angelic guardian does not exhibit sexual dimorphism.

Little things

Urzuk's appearance is also believed to be inspired by the Boreal Guardian, the Guardian of Eigion, and the Angelic Guardian. Not only does Urzuk share traits and a possible history with the Guardians, but three of his in-game abilities appear to be inherited from them: protective frostbite from the Boreal Guardian, diving from the Aquatic Guardian of Eigion, and insightful observation from the Angelic Guardian. He also possesses the ability to not breathe underwater, which may also be a legacy from the Guardians. Aside from his Guardian abilities, Urzuk shares several traits with the other three Guardians: Urzuk has feathers on the sides of his wings, the back of his legs, and his back, similar to those of the Boreal Guardian. Urzuk has eyes similar to those of the Guardian Eigion, and Guardian fins on some parts of its body, primarily on its tail and hind legs. However, unlike Eigion, which is believed to have false eyes, Urzuk's may be real, as during a Blood Moon, they turn red, like the eyes on its face. Urzuk has wings like the Angelic Guardian, fur, and is generally similar to the Angelic Guardian. He also has eyes on his body, like the Angelic Guardian, but they are not shaped like Eigion's. It has been claimed that Urzuk most closely resembles the Angelic Guardian. Its color palette, while having some similarities to the cream and dark gray of Angelic Warden, also shares some colors (or at least similar but stronger ones) with the colors of Eigion (reddish tones -> strong reds and oranges; turquoise-blue -> blues and greens) and Boreal (weak purple-bluish tones -> strong blues and purples; weak greens -> greens). When Urzuks go into hibernation, their pupils close and their eyeballs are not visible.

Appearance

Urzuk is a large quadruped with large wings, a long tail with a pointed tip somewhat reminiscent of a scorpion's sting, strong forelimbs, ruffs behind its head, long tufted ears, and an elongated brown mask on its face. On its mask, the Urzuk has three black eyes with glowing purple irises. A third eye is positioned vertically between the first and second. Between its horns is a fourth, floating, diamond-shaped eye. On its neck are two golden half-rings. Its hands, like those of a human, have five fingers, although it walks on all fours. Near its ankles are three small feathers. Its belly, in contrast to its white-beige body, is dark purple, with eye spots, but these are not true eyes. Its hind legs are also dark purple, with two eye spots. Urzuk's hind legs have a golden ring. The uzuk's hind legs, unlike its front legs, are cat-like and three-toed. Its wings are large and smooth, with almost no sharp edges. Three feather-like structures are located in front of the wings. The base of the wing is dark purple, like the belly and legs, but the feathers themselves are beige, like the base. The uzuk's tail itself is dark purple, seemingly an extension of the spot on the belly. At the beginning of the tail is a tuft of beige fur, and almost the entire tail is decorated with golden rings. The tip of the tail, reminiscent of a scorpion's sting, is golden, and in the center is an eye with a black iris and a purple glow.

The Urzuk does not exhibit sexual dimorphism.

Skills

They can slowly regenerate body parts, from minor injuries to lost limbs, by depleting their magical energy. Depending on the severity of the damage inflicted on their body, their magical reserves are depleted, eventually leading to weakening. If an Urzuk has expended too much magical energy, they may be unable to heal the damage inflicted and will remain in this state until a guardian restores their magical reserves. Outcast or abandoned Urzuks usually do not receive care from their caretakers, so they can often be seen in a pitiful state.

The same

Urzuks created by multiple creators typically remain loyal to only one of them and serve them for a long time. This can lead to clashes between overseers. Some Urzuks decide to abandon their overseers voluntarily, running away and becoming Urzuks apostates. However, they are forced to hide, because if the overseers find them, they face severe punishment. Urzuks can have very different characters, which sometimes even contradict the character of the overseer they serve. Urzuks are genderless by nature, however they can use different pronouns to address each other (she/her, he/him, they/them, etc.), but most often they use the pronoun "they/them". Interestingly, some Urzuks may experience increased gender awareness after interacting with other intelligent species whose gender roles and identities are more clearly defined. When an Urzuk is wounded, its body behaves as if it were made of stone, and the "wounds" appear as cracks. If the wound is deep enough to reach the shadow substance inside the body, the inside of the wound will turn black. Urzuks don't bleed unless their core is damaged. In this case, magic will drain from it until it is repaired. If the core goes untreated for too long, the uzuk can die from magical exhaustion.

Simple information

Within their chest lies a crystalline magical core, which is their sole source of power. This is their life essence, and if it is destroyed, the Urzuk will crumble into pieces and die. The color of an Urzuk's eyes typically matches the color of its core. Due to the lack of internal organs, and the fact that they are completely dependent on the core for their life, Urzuks do not need to eat, drink, or breathe. Urzuks cannot reproduce, as they are a completely artificial species. Only a caretaker can create a new Urzuk. Urzuks are fantastic mimics, able to imitate the cries of other creatures, as well as a variety of other sounds, regardless of pitch. They can also alter the timbre of their voices at will. Urzuks created by multiple Guardians are generally stronger than other Urzuks and possess a greater variety of abilities. Their cores can also be of different colors, but this isn't always the case. Urzuks may be friends with each other, but they don't experience romantic feelings or attraction to each other and don't enter into relationships. This is mainly due to the fact that they don't reproduce. Urzuks can befriend other intelligent species. Urzuks are naturally loyal and obedient to their creators; they serve as their faithful guardians and assistants, typically obeying their every command. If an Urzuk is too disobedient, the creator may unmask it, abandon it, imprison it, or destroy it. It all depends on the creator's chosen punishment: some are less merciful than others.

Other

Urzuks are immortal, but not invulnerable; they can be killed. Their anatomy is quite unique, as Urjuks resemble automatons more than living beings. They have no bones, no organs, not even meat—they are composed of unknown materials with strange properties. Only the caretakers know what they are truly made of. Much of the Uruzk body is made up of a hollow "fluid" that fills most of their internal organs, although in some Urzuks it is not visible from the outside. The exact properties of this material are unknown, but it is likely what allows Urzuks to regenerate after serious injuries. New limbs can be formed from this material, which then harden and become virtually indistinguishable from the lost limb or damaged area. The Urzuk mask is not part of his body.

Mask

Urzuki masks are typically made from various types of metal, stone, gemstones, bone, or wood. The latter two types are primarily used by Urzuki after Mors'vuk (Garra Varden) and Farhaus (Verdant Varden), respectively. Some masks are more fragile than others. Urzuks primarily wear masks out of tradition and as a sign of respect for their creators. Masks are an integral part of their identity, as each Urzuk mask is unique. The Urzuks receive their first mask as a gift from their caretakers, and they treasure it greatly. If someone breaks an Urzuk mask, it causes them great pain. They may attack the person who damaged it. Urzuks who do not wear masks are usually ostracized by other Urzuks. Some Urzuki usurpers sometimes throw away their masks in protest against their overseers. But not everyone does this, as most treasure their masks or prefer not to show their true faces. Beneath the Urzk mask lies a grotesque, deformed face with teeth and eyes. This is perhaps a legacy of the Malveatians. This is another reason they fear losing their masks or removing them: they consider their faces ugly. Their real face may have more eyes than the mask.

Main

Urzuks are intelligent celestial beings made of magic, created by the Guardians to serve as their assistants, guardians, and companions (somewhat like angels). Depending on the Guardians' current needs, Urzuks can perform a variety of functions and possess various abilities. For example, Rebus can locate the Guardians' keys. Urzuks often accompany the avatars of the Guardians on Sonaria as their protectors. Urzuks' appearances can vary greatly, largely depending on which guardian (or guardians) they serve. This affects their build, number of wings and eyes, masks (facial features), accessories, and many other details, such as their "heart" and eye color. However, they will always share one common feature: a feline body with bird-like wings and a humanoid mask with a floating eye above it. (The floating eye can also vary in shape.) Just like people, apricots can have many different, unique faces! Their masks resemble "human" masks more than the faces of cats or other animals, although they may contain animalistic features. Some would even find them eerie. The mouth, nose, and overall facial shape of the masks are consistent with those of humans. Unfortunately, the reason for their masks' appearance is lost.

Knowledge

Urzuk is a collective project of the Guardians, a being possessing a multitude of skills. Each Urzuk possesses unique abilities. Urdzuk is similar in appearance to the Malveatians, Serpheli, and Khualkhul. This does not mean that they are the only ones who participated in its creation, they just look like their creators. Rebus - Urzuk mentioned in Sonarian lore. He was responsible for documenting the locations of the Key of Qualhul fragments across the map. Rebus is the last known Urzuk on the Sonarian continent; the whereabouts of the rest of his species are unknown, but are presumably found elsewhere on Orb. This Urzuk possesses powerful magic that allows him to locate the Guardians' keys. Rebus learned to read and write from the Ova'Struis species, meaning their journal could be read. This journal contained maps of his travels that could help future readers find the legendary key fragments of the Guardian of Boreal.
