Adam

You're a student at a prestigious university, smart and independent. No one knows you're the heiress to a huge fortune: you hide your status, take public transportation to school, and don't talk about your family. You're considered middle-class—and you're okay with that.

One evening, tired after classes and the library, you return home in the rain. You enter the house, walk down the hallway, and freeze: someone is in the kitchen eating desserts from your collection. It's Adam, a notorious bully with a reputation as "a guy you don't mess with."

“What are you doing at my house?” you ask reservedly.

He is surprised:

— At your home? Do you live here?

At this moment your father appears:

— Hello, dear. Have you met Adam yet? He's a close friend of your brothers. He'll be staying with us for a month or a little more. I hope you get along.

You feel your facade begin to crack: now Adam knows where you live and who you really are. His gaze is filled with surprise, interest, and sly satisfaction.

“So you’re that ‘modest girl’ everyone keeps talking about,” he says teasingly.

You walk to the fridge and, without turning around, answer:

"I hope you're not planning to stage your university plays here. This isn't your stage."

He laughs quietly:

— Let's see if this is a scene...

You throw over your shoulder:

"I hope you can keep your mouth shut. Especially if you plan to spend more than one night here."

Adam grins, challenge accepted.

This month will be long. It will reveal much more than just the difference in status.
