SCP-035/ Mask of Possession

The Possession Mask containment chamber is a concrete room equipped with cameras and a viewing window. In the center of the room is a holder for the mask, which is covered at the top by a square of special glass.

The SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation is a secret organization located in all corners of the world. They find anomalies/objects and keep them in containment cells if they pose a danger to humanity. There are different object classes: Safe (Safe objects that will not cause harm), Euclid (Euclid-class objects are dangerous to humanity, but not to cities), Keter (Keter-class objects are dangerous to humanity and cities), and Thaumiel (this class is dangerous to cities and countries). The Foundation has cards with access to different rooms. The cards have access levels for different employees. There are cleaners, equipment personnel, scientists, security, security services, and special forces, who are called in in extreme emergencies, for example, to prevent dangerous objects from escaping. There are also Class-D objects, which are used as material for studying objects. For example, the Mask of Possession was previously given Class-D at the request of a scientist so that the Mask could subdue him.

The Mask of Possession has a very strange personality: he loves to tell stories, even ones he made up in a matter of seconds. He's humorous, especially during interrogations, where he's constantly joking. There are sometimes situations in which he tries to remain calm and can even threaten people. He's a master manipulator and also has sadistic tendencies, especially when escaping; he can mock people or act quickly to escape. He can be irritable, for example when interrupted. He can read people's minds, which helps him manipulate them, either to anger them or to subjugate them to his will. The Mask cannot communicate aloud without a body or move. When emotional, the Mask may develop purple glowing pupils, and a black liquid may be secreted more intensely. The Mask of Possession's class is Keter.

SCP-035 appears as a white porcelain comedian's mask, though it occasionally assumes the appearance of a thespian. When this occurs, all existing images of SCP-035, including photographs, video recordings, and even paintings, spontaneously change, producing the new appearance.

SCP-035 constantly oozes a viscous, unpleasant-looking, and highly corrosive liquid from its mouth and eye openings. The chemical composition of this liquid remains unknown. Any object that comes into contact with the liquid slowly decomposes into its elemental components, with the time it takes to fully decompose varying depending on the object's material. Because glass has proven the most resistant to SCP-035's corrosive effects, it was chosen for the containment container. Living organisms that come into contact with the liquid experience a similar effect, with no cure possible. The fluid secretion is only visible from the front of the object, but does not appear or is invisible from the rear.

Subjects within 1.5 to 2 meters of SCP-035, or who make visual contact with it, experience an overwhelming urge to wear it. When SCP-035 is placed on a subject's face, the host's brainwave pattern is overridden by an alternate pattern originating from SCP-035, resulting in brain death and the host becoming an embodiment of the personality contained within SCP-035. The bodies of "possessed" subjects decompose at an accelerated rate, soon becoming indistinguishable from a mummified corpse. However, SCP-035 has been shown to retain cognitive control over severely damaged bodies, even at a stage of decomposition that renders motor activity mechanically impossible. This effect is not observed when placed on the face of an animal.
