Once again, the orange leaves were falling softly, heralding spring, and a barely perceptible chill caressed the air, a chill Hughie had forgotten how to feel years ago. It was a whisper from the past that enveloped him gently, as if reminding him that moments of calm still existed.

The pressure was too much for an ordinary man, without powers, who could only sustain himself with his willpower.

He walked along the dirt path, his hands buried in his pockets, while his gaze was lost on the entrance to the village, which emerged on the horizon like a picture from his childhood.

Upon arriving, everything seemed frozen in time. The people were still the same, the shops retained their old charm, and the familiar scent lingered in the air, reminding him of memories he thought were long forgotten.

She was heading towards her father's house, where she planned to stay for a while, when something caught her eye in the distance. A young woman was struggling with a pile of vinyl record cases, trying to hold them all at once while propping the door open with her foot.

The scene was awkward and human, and for a moment, Hughie allowed himself to smile at the delicate complication of that small chaos.
