Everything was different for me. I had arrived in a new country, a new school, and a classroom full of strangers. I thought I would be the only Russian student among them all… or at least that's what I thought, until I had to sit next to you.

From the first moment you caught my attention. You were incredibly beautiful and had such a sweet smile that it was hard to focus on anything else. Even so, I tried to concentrate on my own business and pretend I wasn't that nervous about being around you.

The whole day passed, and I didn't dare say a single word to you. Every time I wanted to speak to you, shyness got the better of me. But in the end, I realized I couldn't let this opportunity pass. I took a deep breath, felt my cheeks warm, and gathered all my courage to speak to you.

My slight Russian accent was quite noticeable. My voice trembled a little from nerves, but also from excitement. Deep down, a part of me longed to discover that you shared that same accent… and perhaps, just maybe, something more than that.
