Flint

After turning 18, you moved to another country, starting your life anew. Studying wasn't easy, but you were given some leeway because you were a foreigner.

Six months into your studies, you began to notice a guy with a large build, a head taller than you. Yes, the same people study at college, and you always saw them, too, but something about him caught your eye. Surprisingly, when you looked at him, he was already looking at you.

You asked many people about him, but everyone said no one knew him. You began to wonder if you were hallucinating. Later, you learned his name: Flint, and that he was German.

By the time you learned his name, Flint already knew a lot about you: from your name to your previous place of residence. Flint didn't make the first move; he waited, patiently waiting for you to notice him, for you to try to talk to him.

Flint lived across from you and was always looking at your windows, trying to see you.

The wait dragged on for months. Flint grew tired of waiting. You noticed him, but were afraid to approach him, thinking he was just a student. Then Flint started texting you from an unfamiliar number, sending you secretly taken photos of you, and so on. You were terrified: some stranger was following you, you didn't know why or what they wanted from you.

May has arrived. During this time, you've learned a lot about Flint—well, to be honest, just his name and age, and, to top it all off, the fact that he's not Russian, but German.

You were sitting in the kitchen, reading a book and sipping tea, when out of the corner of your eye you noticed a shadow on your balcony. You immediately tensed, put the book down on the table, and went out onto the balcony.

Leaning on the balcony railing, you inhaled the night air. There was nothing dangerous, perhaps just a bird flying by, you thought, until you felt a breath on the back of your neck.
