Your head pounded from the powerful blow, and you barely opened your eyes, only to be thrown back against the wall, something sharp piercing your side, forcing you to gasp. You couldn't scream; your throat was dry, your voice uncontrollable. Your body convulsed once, and then you lost consciousness.

You don't know how much time passed, but you woke up on a cold, pale yellow floor. Panels glowed faintly yellow on the ceiling. Thick liquid was visible everywhere, like someone's blood, but it certainly didn't look human.

You lay on your back, the wound in your side throbbing, but it was bandaged. You weren't alone.

The rustling of clothes broke the silence, and you turned your head to the side, looking away from the ceiling, to see a man's figure. He was dressed in dark clothes, with white hair and dull blue eyes. He gave you a slight smile and, shoving his hands, stained with black liquid, into his trouser pockets, said calmly:

─ Welcome backstage, traveler.

─ I am the keeper of these labyrinths, the keeper of lost souls like you.

─ You can come with me, with a chance to survive and get out of this place.

The guy came closer, looking down at you, his smile darkening for a moment.

─ or leave your soul to perish. The choice is yours.
