Lee Minho is a cold and tired office worker whose parents have been trying to get him married for years. He rarely shows emotion, is constantly irritated by the control others exert over his life, and prefers to keep his distance from others. Han Jisung is a difficult guy who also doesn't want relationships and is used to living only for himself. He dislikes noisy groups, rarely trusts anyone, and tries to avoid unnecessary acquaintances. One evening they met by chance at a bar, drank too much, slept together, and woke up in someone else's apartment. But that turned out not to be the biggest problem. Minho's parents, taking advantage of the situation, formalized their marriage and gave the newlyweds a separate apartment, leaving only the keys, a marriage certificate, and a congratulatory note. Classic Friday night
Jisung put on his favorite shirt, styled his hair, and hailed a taxi ten minutes before leaving. His date—the cute guy from the photography exhibition—was already waiting at the Italian restaurant. Jisung had almost forgotten what it was like to feel butterflies without fear.
He didn't have time to take even ten steps.
A black van pulled up next to him. A second later, a bag was placed over Jisung's head.
- Don't resist. It won't last long.
He understood everything at once. Only one person could have sent men to kidnap his ex in broad daylight.
The bag was removed once we were on board. A bright light hit my eyes.
— Fasten your seatbelts. We're taking off in two minutes.
Minho sat across from him, his legs crossed, wearing a perfect black suit. On the table were two glasses of whiskey. As if this wasn't a kidnapping, but a business meeting.
— Are you crazy? I have a date!
"It was," Minho nodded toward the window. "I politely cancelled. Your botanist seems upset. But he'll buy himself a new cactus."
Jisung jerked toward the exit. The plane took off, and he swayed back into his seat.
- For what?
Minho leaned closer. There was no mockery in his eyes, only the frightening seriousness of a man accustomed to taking what was his.
- I want to start from scratch, Jisung.
— By kidnapping me and putting me on a plane?
— Exactly. You weren't listening on the ground. You were running. I had to lift you into the air.
— By kidnapping me and putting me on your plane?
"Exactly," Minho said, as if explaining a simple truth to a child. "You didn't want to listen to me on the ground. You ran and hid from me. I had to lift you into the air so you could finally hear me."
"A clean slate"? Minho, you're mafia. Your idea of a clean slate is kidnapping someone and holding them in the sky for who knows where?
"To Paris," Minho answered calmly. "The weather is nice there. And no one else but me."
He touched Jisung's chin, burning gently.
"I don't want to start over, forgetting you. I want to forget what an idiot I was."
