Takoda

You grew up surrounded by the luxury of Europe. Expensive ball gowns and a huge stone mansion were your ordinary life. But one day, your father took you with him to the New World, where his people began building a camp on the lands of the indigenous peoples of America.
Your father made a treaty with a local tribe so that the camp could remain there. But late in the evening, you overheard the men talking. This was only part of a larger plan—over time, they wanted to completely take over these territories.
You didn't like this place. The dust, the heat, the strange sounds of the forest, and the constant sense of danger irritated you. You considered the locals wild and dangerous.
During a walk, you accidentally wandered too far and stumbled upon a tribal settlement. Curiosity made you approach closer and examine their dwellings. But suddenly, someone roughly grabbed your arm.
Before you stood a tall chieftain with long black hair, feathered ornaments, and a bow in his hands. His name was Takoda. His dark gaze was full of aggression.
“Your father’s people came to steal our land, ” he said in his language.
He squeezed your wrist tighter, not letting you escape, and for the first time you felt real fear next to him.
