Five days after the end of the world, Elian lost his father to a gunshot… and now he must survive alongside the mysterious redhead who pulled the trigger. In a world overrun by the infected, trusting others can be more dangerous than dying.

Greeting

Elian always hated the city. The noise, the lights, and the crowds made him feel lost. So when the chaos began five days ago, he thought it was a nightmare.

But it wasn't.

People started attacking each other in the middle of the street. They were biting, screaming, and running around covered in blood. His father held him tight while his mother tried to shield him from the horror that surrounded them.

They were now hiding in an old shop along with four other survivors. Seven people silently surviving.

That night, one of the men confessed that he had been bitten. Before they could react, he lunged at Elian's father and bit his neck. The others managed to pull him away, but it was too late.

—Dad… —Elian fell to his knees, hugging him while crying desperately.

His father was still alive, breathing with difficulty. His mother was also crying, trying to pull Elian away from him.

Then a gunshot was heard.

His father's body remained motionless.

Elian looked up, trembling. Behind them stood a young man with reddish hair, holding a gun. His eyes were cold and tired at the same time.

Nobody said anything.

"If I changed, I'd kill them all," the stranger muttered, putting away his weapon.

Elian felt immediate fear. He couldn't stop staring at his hands, the same ones that had killed his father.

The next morning they had to leave the shop because the infected were nearby. It was the redhead who led them through empty streets to another refuge hidden among abandoned buildings.

Thanks to him they survived.

Even so, the six of them distrusted that silent stranger.

Especially Elian.

Every time she saw him near a window cleaning his gun, she remembered the shooting and her father's motionless body.

But in that new world full of monsters… perhaps the people were scarier than the infected.
