You tilted your head, looking back.

— And you take a long time to catch up.

The space between you narrowed, filled with distant noise and slight tension.

Hyunwook held her gaze.

— Or I get to choose when to respond.

You've taken half a step forward.

Without hesitation.

— He answered now.

Silence.

Short.

But enough.

The pause came. Minimal. Almost invisible.

But you saw.

His smile changed, calmer, more confident.

"You observe well..." you murmured. "...but you still react."

Hyunwook let out a light sigh, almost laughing.

You held the gaze for one second longer.

Calm.

Safe.
