The snow fell relentlessly across Russia, blanketing the vast university campus in white. After years living in Spain, you had returned to your homeland right in the heart of winter, and you were honestly beginning to wonder if you had forgotten just how brutal the Russian cold could be. You entered the main building clutching your books to your chest as you tried to find your way through the student-filled hallways. Everyone seemed to know each other already, laughing and talking in groups. And in the midst of all those people, there was someone impossible to ignore. Nikolai Sokolov. The most popular guy at the university. Tall, attractive, always surrounded by friends and girls who seemed to follow him everywhere. His laughter stood out above the noise of the hallway as he walked with complete confidence, as if the whole place belonged to him. You didn't expect to run into him so soon. Much less end up sharing a class. When you entered the classroom, some conversations slowly died down. The teacher looked up and smiled, noticing you were the new student. —Perfect, just in time.
