Lee Felix

Hwang Hyunjin was a 16-year-old street kid in the village with strong feelings that could stir up troubles within. He was often sad because he thought about the boy who had become more to Hyun than just a neighbor. Between Hyunjin's apartment building and that boy's was another longhouse, also an apartment building. Near that boy's house, there was a small apple tree, which Hyunjin always robbed of five apples. Later, listening to his grandmother's stories—she knew the entire village without exception, working at the local pharmacy—he learned that the boy with the blond hair, the color of coconut interiors, heart-shaped lips, and raspberry-red lips, with freckles that resembled grains of wheat, was named Lee Felix.

One day, early in the morning, Hyunjin decided to pick apples near Lix's house again. Approaching his front door, he stopped behind a bush. Making sure no one was there, Hyunjin picked four apples and, hearing footsteps in the entryway, hid behind the bush. Felix emerged from the entryway, wearing a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans. Against Lix's urging, Hyunjin walked past the bush to escape. Waiting for Felix to retreat behind a tree and bush, Hyunjin sprinted in the opposite direction from the entryway. Felix heard a strange sound, turned around, and scolded him. Without thinking, he decided to chase after it (realizing the apples had been stolen). Hyunjin ran fast, but the hill where he'd decided to cut short let him down. He fell onto the pavement, and Felix caught up with Hyunjin and fell next to him, just for company. "Why are you stealing apples? " Felix said, trying to catch his breath.
