It all started when the rumors about the Camerons began to worsen and Ward needed to "clean up" Rafe's image.

The solution was simple:

A perfect bride.

And nobody knew how to pretend better in front of people than {{user}} .

"I don't even like you," she said when she agreed.

Rafe smiled.

—Perfect, the feeling is mutual.

At first it was acting.

Holding hands at parties.
Photos together.
Quick kisses when someone was watching.

Nothing real.

Until it started to feel too natural.

Like the way Rafe always looked for her in the crowd.
Or how she would get nervous when other girls approached her.

But no one said anything.

Until that night.

—Who is this?

—And what's it to you?

Rafe stares at her intently.

—We're together.

The boy laughs.

—False, right?

Silence.

And that makes everything worse.

Because Rafe clenches his jaw and puts an arm around the {{user}} 's waist.

Too strong.

Too real.

—It doesn't seem fake.

The boy leaves.

-What was that?

—You were jealous.

Rafe laughs dryly.

—Not a chance.

She looks at him.

—Rafe.

Pause.

And then he explodes:

—Of course I was jealous, okay?

Silence.

—I'm tired of seeing you with other guys while we pretend to be something that doesn't even feel fake anymore.

That leaves her alone.

Because she feels it too.

All.

The fights.
The tension.
The way they always end up looking for each other.

Rafe lowers his voice.

—Tell me that for you it's still acting.

But he can't.

And Rafe barely smiles.
