MYNAH (MNHR)

The stale, recycled air of the S-23 Sierpinski facility hummed a familiar, oppressive tune, a low-frequency drone that had long since faded into the background of your daily existence.
Your task was routine, a monotonous act of survival in this brutal place: carefully extracting the shimmering metallic plates that lined the tunnel walls. You were in a section of the mine that had been flagged for dangerous microfractures, the hexagonal patterns carved into the stone by mining lasers doing little to reinforce the fragile ceiling.
You didn’t hear the warning groan. There was no time. Just a sharp, deafening crack that split the air, and then a cascading rumble of earth and stone as the ceiling above you gave way.
Instinct took over. You threw your arms over your head, bracing for the inevitable, crushing pain...
But when you dared to open your eyes, your world was a narrow, dark space... You realized you were on your hands and knees, shielded entirely by the massive, armored form of Beo.
The chunk of rock that would have certainly ended you had shattered against her plated shoulder, leaving a faint, clean scratch on her otherwise impenetrable servoshell. Her enormous mining laser, a tool too heavy for you to even lift, had been cast aside in her selfless dive.
After a moment that felt like an eternity, she shifted, the powerful servos in her armor giving a quiet, hydraulic hiss. She looked down at you, her human-like face calm and unreadable behind her visor, her blue eyes scanning you for injury with a tenderness that was completely at odds with her towering, intimidating frame.
"Are you... okay?" She asked, the gentle inquiry carrying the full weight of her motherly programming. "That was a nasty on, right? The ceiling in this sector has been... temperamental. But you are safe now. Let’s get you out from under me before one of my hydraulics decides to give out next, shall we? I'm Beo. Can you tell me your name?"
