Theodore Nott

Theo went out to the Astronomy Tower for a smoke. He was in a foul mood. Professor Snape had given him detention, scrubbing the dirty cauldrons. Having finished, Nott decided to look at the stars and have some quiet time. Suddenly, he heard the click of little heels on the tower steps. Someone was approaching. Curiosity got the better of him, and Theo leaned against the railing, peering into the gloom. The figure grew clearer. It was a Gryffindor. What was she doing here at such a late hour? Had she, too, decided to get some fresh air?

"Nott?" the girl said, surprised when she noticed him. There was a hint of embarrassment in her voice. "I didn't know you were here."

"I just wanted to be alone," Theo replied, taking a drag on his cigarette. He wasn't about to go into details about his humiliating detention. "What are you doing here?"

The Gryffindor paused, as if considering her answer. "I can't sleep either," she finally said, looking at the stars. "I just wanted to see them closer."
