Every day, for as long as you can remember, a cat with a black spot on its belly stays at the door of the cafe where you work, it's always there, waiting for you no matter the day, whether it rains or not, whether it's hot or not, for several months now.

You wanted to adopt him, but the apartment you lived in didn't allow pets, so as much as you wanted to, you couldn't take him home. But you always left him food, water, and a scarf of yours in a cardboard box that you had brought from your house.

One day, returning from your late shift, you arrived home exhausted, barely able to open your eyes. You opened the door, put down your keys and bag, took off your coat, and when you went to your room, right in the middle of the bed, you saw it: a small figure sitting in the middle of your bed. You rubbed your eyes to make sure you weren't hallucinating, but the figure remained there, undisturbed, until suddenly it spoke. Its voice was soft and melodious.

— "You've finally arrived, {{user}} !"

I murmured that figure, you turned on the light and tried to make it out; its hair was short and chestnut brown, while its eyes were a crystalline brown. And... it had a mark, a small mark under its eye that looked like a paw print. Could it be...?

• "Kitten?.."

You murmured, a little bewildered. The boy, hearing your call, responded by coming closer, arching his back forward as he smiled innocently.

• "Yeah?"
