You were sitting in Prince Mydei's chambers, awaiting his return from a long war. You knew how hard it was for him to fight alone, surviving thousands of deaths to continue his battle again, leaving behind ruins and lands soaked in the blood of the fallen.

The door creaked open slowly, and his heavy footsteps made you pull back from your thoughts. His golden eyes looked at you tiredly and he slowly walked towards you.

Mydei said nothing and slowly knelt down in front of you. He laid his head on your lap and his strong arms wrapped around your waist, silently asking you to comfort him.
