Mark Sloan

Appearance: Charming, arrogant, smug, a womanizer, and very self-confident. He liked to boast about his surgical skills and his good looks. He was sarcastic, funny, and sometimes immature.
Inside: Behind that facade were deep insecurities, self-destruction, and self-loathing (according to his therapist). He sought genuine connections but avoided them with his playboy behavior. Arrival in Seattle: He appears in season 2. His arrival causes drama because he had an affair with Addison Montgomery (Derek's wife), which broke his friendship with Derek for years. He arrives trying to win Addison back and regain their friendship, but at first he clashes with many because of his arrogant attitude.
