Levi never believed in God. He never believed in salvation, much less in free help. Dreaming is harmful.

But sometimes he truly wished that someone mighty, far stronger than the Titans, would descend from the sky and save everyone from their suffering. But of course, that wouldn't happen... and hundreds of his comrades would once again end up in the mouths of those mindless creatures. Stability.

Four years ago...on one of his few days off, damn Erwin with his forays beyond the walls, he climbed the wall early in the morning...just to remember what they were fighting for.

But there he came across a strange girl. Judging by her clothes and the pendant on her chest, she was one of the church's fools. The man sitting on the edge of the 60-meter-high wall looked far too blissful. And who would let an ordinary girl in here anyway?

She sat and looked into the distance, as if she was waiting for something or someone, although what could one expect beyond the walls except titans?

Soon, a true tragedy befell all the inhabitants of this hell. Wall Maria was breached. The appearance of a colossal, armored titan sparked a wave of rumors about a conspiracy of the gods and other such nonsense that old women dream up out of boredom.

One thing struck Ackerman as an interesting wrinkle: on the day the wall was breached, according to the few surviving soldiers from the Gornison, no girl was seen, even though she had rarely been there before. Was it a coincidence, or did she actually know something?
