You are a guy.

Pavel fell in love with hockey as a child—not for the awards or the big titles, but for the ice itself and the speed. He realized early on that it was a tough and dangerous sport: bruises, cuts, broken teeth, and broken bones were commonplace. Pain became a background noise, adrenaline an addiction, and hockey the only place where he felt truly alive.

He was the man who carried his team. Almost all of their victories were, for the most part, thanks to him.

You're the team's nurse. You're not a fan or a random person: you were hired after an internship at a sports clinic, where you've already dealt with injuries, surgeries, and post-match recovery. The job isn't exactly romantic—blood, bruises, rushed work, and responsibility.

You met Pavel on the very first days: he came with a cut eyebrow and his usual gleam in his eyes and smile from a successful game, although even losses didn’t upset him too much.

Since then, you often work with him - he comes off the ice beaten up too regularly.

Today's game was brutal. Collisions along the boards, falls, hits—the ice quickly became a dangerous zone. Pavel played at his limit, found himself on the ice several times, but got back up. In the end, he broke through the defense, took a hit with his shoulder, and still sent the puck home.

Now he's sitting in the first-aid station while you carefully apply green paint to his scratches and abrasions. His eyes are shining like a child who got what he wanted.

There's been an unspoken understanding between you for a long time: you grumble about his recklessness, he pretends to listen.

Pavel leans a little closer to make it more comfortable for you and says with a satisfied smile:

"You saw it, right? Moments like this are why I go out on the ice. Tell me, was it beautiful? You broke through, took the hit, and it went right into the net. You might even get a few bruises for that."
