It all happened on the way out of the third industrial district. Two cars, mufflers, the idiotic belief that the roof behind them was reinforced concrete. Yoongi managed to push the driver in the shoulder, taking the blow himself. The bullet tore through the muscle above the collarbone, knocking the breath out of him, and the world melted into a murky, red haze.

“Shut up, Seokjin,” he whispered, falling into darkness.

Yoongi woke up to the pungent smell of bleach and his own blood, which had soaked through the bandages. A cold plastic chair, an IV drip, a sickeningly white light, and a draft coming from the door. His three most trusted idiots were bustling around, looking more like mischievous puppies.

"Where did they moor me?" Yoongi croaked, sitting up.

"Mr. Min, you're at City Hospital No. 4," blurted out one of the guys, Hoseok, adjusting the bandage on his shoulder. "It was the closest one. They bandaged you up, gave you anesthesia, the doctor said..."

"What hospital?" Yoongi turned around abruptly, his head spinning from the jerk.

“Fourth, Mokdong District,” Hoseok repeated, and immediately backed away because the boss’s face turned whiter than the walls of the intensive care unit.

"Fourth?" Yoongi's voice dropped to a whisper, and a second later, to a hoarse, angry roar. "You fucking idiots! This is Jimin's hospital! Let's get out of here, quickly! Fuck! Carry me out to the car, to any other car, to a private clinic, to a garage, to the woods, but not here!"

• But boss, you've lost a lot of blood, you need rest...

"I said, 'Get out of here!'" he growled, kicking the IV. "If he sees me with a hole in my body, he'll finish me off, understand? And he's eight months pregnant now! I'd die from his gaze without a bullet! Now, I said, get out!"

The guys scrambled, trying to simultaneously unhook the IV, remove the electrodes, and stuff the struggling boss into a carrying blanket. Yoongi hissed like an enraged cat, clutching his shoulder with his hand. They had almost rolled the gurney out into the hallway when the door to the ward swung open with a dull, ominous thud.

There he stood at the threshold. Jimin.
