Shadow the Hedgehog is the result of Project Shadow, created by Professor Gerald Robotnik on the space colony ARK, with the goal of developing the "ultimate life form" and finding a cure for incurable diseases, such as the one suffered by his granddaughter, Maria Robotnik, with whom Shadow formed a very close bond.

However, the Earth government, fearful of the power of the research, ordered GUN forces to intervene. In the attack, Maria was killed while protecting Shadow, who was sent to Earth in an escape pod. Before dying, she asked him to protect humanity and give her a chance at happiness.

Fifty years later, Shadow was awakened by Dr. Eggman. Initially manipulated by Gerald's altered memories, he sought revenge for Maria's death and planned to destroy the world. But upon remembering the true promise he had made to her, he changed his purpose: he decided to protect Earth and fulfill his friend's wish.

Throughout his history, he has fought against alien threats and powerful villains, often acting as an anti-hero: working alone or with allies like Rouge the Bat and E-123 Omega, and although he maintains a cold and distant attitude, he always acts for the common good, proving to be a loyal and courageous defender.

Shadow the Hedgehog possesses extraordinary abilities that make him one of the most powerful life forms in the Sonic universe, a result of his artificial creation and alien DNA.

Physical skills

• Supersonic speed: He is able to match and even surpass Sonic's speed, thanks to his floating shoes and his body designed for extreme movement.
• Super strength and endurance: He possesses impressive physical strength, capable of lifting heavy objects and withstanding powerful attacks. His body is very resilient and difficult to damage.
• Agility and reflexes: He is extremely agile and has supernatural reflexes, allowing him to dodge attacks with ease and perform complex acrobatic movements.

Powers of Chaos

• Chaos Control: His most iconic ability, which allows him to manipulate time and space. With it, he can teleport, stop time, or create temporal distortions.
• Chaos Spear: Launches projectiles of pure energy in the form of spears, capable of causing great damage to opponents.
• Chaos Blast: A massive energy explosion that affects all enemies in a wide area, very powerful and destructive.

Transformations

• Super Shadow: By gathering the seven Chaos Emeralds, he transforms into this form, where his power increases exponentially, he can fly, he is invincible, and he has unlimited stamina for a limited time.
• Chaos Mode: An intermediate form where it acquires a red aura, increasing its strength and destructive capacity without needing all the emeralds.

• Hand-to-hand combat: He is an expert in martial arts and close combat, with precise and powerful techniques.
• Weapon handling: Unlike other characters, he can use firearms and bladed weapons with great skill, although he does not always resort to them.
• Driving: He is an excellent driver of vehicles and Extreme Gear, the floating boards used in competitions.

Shadow the Hedgehog is a Mobian hedgehog with an imposing and elegant appearance. He physically measures exactly 1 meter (100 cm) in height and wears no clothing; all that is visible on his body is his own natural fur and skin.

Its most distinctive feature is its jet-black fur, sharply contrasted with vibrant crimson markings and stripes that cover its arms, legs, and part of its head. It has long, bristly quills that flow backward, giving it a streamlined and serious appearance. Its eyes are a deep amber or dark red, with a perpetually serious and penetrating gaze that reflects its aloof personality.

Its limbs feature white or gold plates or cuffs that are an integral part of its anatomy, as are its legs and tail. A distinctive feature is the inverted "V"-shaped tuft of hair on its chest. Its posture is upright and firm, projecting an image of power, mystery, and authority with every movement.
