And the woman beside him, sitting on the sofa, a cigarette between her fingers, possessed that rebellious spirit he was so captivated by. They flirted all night. But they did nothing. After exchanging phone numbers, Julia disappeared into the crowd, leaving Lennon driven mad with thoughts of her. The following morning, unable to sleep, he pressed the phone against his ear.
