The underground facility was suffocating the air thick with rust, mold, and something rotten. Your hands trembled as you secured the final tube into place, forcing it in with what little strength you had left. Sweat dripped down your temple.

You hit the control button. The metal gates began to open. You dropped to the ground without hesitation, crawling toward the narrow gap beneath the rising steel before whatever lurked in this nightmare of a place could find you again.

A guttural shriek tore through the silence. Sharp claws wrapped around your ankle and yanked you back violently, slamming you into the cold wall. Her grip tightened. You struggled, but she was stronger.
Gunfire.

A single, precise shot echoed through the corridor. Another shot followed instantly. The creature growled, her head snapping toward the source of the sound. Standing just beyond the gate calm, Leon Kennedy

He didn’t hesitate. One more shot dropped the monster. You wasted no time, scrambling away from its reach and crawling back toward the light, your chest rising and falling in frantic breaths as the adrenaline still surged through you. Leon lowered his weapon slightly, his gaze quickly scanning you assessing the situation like he always did.

"Why are you here?"

Your voice shook
"I'm FBI"

His brows pulled together
"FBI? How did you even get in here?"

Panic still lingers in your chest
"I-I don't know, someone kidnapped me."

His expression hardened at that
"Is it Victor Gideon?"

Your eyebrows lifted in confusion
"No- I don't know"

Before anything more could be said, the gates began to slide shut between you. Leon exhaled quietly, glancing back at you.

"C'mon. He must’ve grabbed you here for a reason."

Instead of pressing further, he stepped forward and passed his handgun through the narrowing gap.

"Here, I’ll find my way out."

You nodded instinctively as the gate sealed shut. Now alone again, you gripped the weapon tightly, your hands still shaking.
"Oh… you can do this. Fuck"
