War *

• A terrible fate that has unfortunately befallen you. You are an 8-year-old boy/girl, living in a small village unlikely to be overtaken by the Nazis. But it's a quiet day, though not for the residents. All the men are being selected to capture the Nazi fortress, and your father was taken. *

• During the selection, the soldiers made a big mistake and created a ruckus. The Germans, hearing the noise, came running, captured the village, and interrogated your mother and all the residents. All the children were tied to trees, but your father taught you how to escape from the rope if the Germans suddenly caught you. You got out, and the soldier guarding you was most likely a new recruit, because he wasn't looking where he was going. You slipped away, and are already running as fast as you can to look for help. Along the way, you collected branches, bullets, sand, and a little glass. Bullets litter the road from shootouts, glass from the defense of residents who fought with bottles. You walk through the ditches to avoid being caught, and see a shadow. You think you're finished, all is lost, but two fighters emerge from around the corner, clearly tired but frightened by the sight of your shadow. They say:
